Melcom Mall: Where Ghana shops
Exploring Accra’s latest retail and entertainment haven
The new Melcom Mall in Spintex has emerged as a beacon of modernity and convenience, revolutionising the shopping landscape in Ghana – nothing else like it exists in the country.
The heart of Melcom Mall isn’t the physical structure but the experience. Across two floors, you’ll find the freshest produce, a vast range of local and international food, a bakery and a delicatessen. On the next floor, you’ll find electrical appliances, furniture, household goods, mobile phones, toys and IT accessories. There are also two live cooking stations serving up frankly excellent food, as well as a variety of coffee shops and restaurants including Hallab Gourmet 1881, serving stunning Lebanese desserts, among other food. The inclusion of outdoor and indoor play areas, as well as Arcadia for teenagers, ensures that families can enjoy a day of shopping while children engage in activities tailored to their interests.
Sonya Sadhwani, Director of Brand Management at Melcom Group of Companies, encapsulates the essence of Melcom Mall’s innovation, stating, “Melcom Mall is a one-stop shop, full stop. For example, there’s the children’s outdoor play area. There’s an indoor play area. There’s Arcadia for the teenagers.”
From the moment visitors step foot into Melcom Mall, they are greeted with a vision of freshness and vitality. The meticulous design, as described by Sadhwani, ensures that upon entry, patrons are met with a vibrant array of offerings, from groceries to freshly baked goods.
The mall’s layout further enhances the shopping journey, with department store sections thoughtfully organised to facilitate a seamless flow. As Sadhwani explains, “The beauty is when you go up the travelator, the department store section is organised so you flow through it. It’s not stressful.” This intentional design fosters a sense of ease and relaxation, allowing shoppers to navigate the space effortlessly.
Melcom Mall offers an experience like no other, from its retail offering to its entertainment, its gastronomical eateries and coffee shops.
