Republic, along with +233 and Alliance Française, accounts for a large proportion of the live-music offering in Accra. Bands, solo acts and DJs appear here every weekend, while Wednesday nights are given over to some exceptional local and touring artists from around the world – highlife musician Ebo Taylor being one such legend – and Thursdays are dedicated to house music. And while this is little more than a street bar, there is always something going on. Good bar snacks too.
