Tucked away behind a white building on Oxford Street, Jewelart could easily go unnoticed, which, for anyone with a penchant for unique pieces of handcrafted silver or gold jewellery, would be a shame. In the backroom you’ll find Georgette, a Lebanese-born now-local who started the business with her late husband and still has several tables laden with crafted silver and gold pieces, many of them sporting African motifs. This little showroom is a far cry from being a glossy, well-lit jewellery store, but there are some really beautiful pieces, with everything priced by weight.
