Meet Me There African Home Lodge
Eco-conscious, not-for-profit lodge that supports the work of the Dream Big Ghana NGO
While looking every inch the Instagram influencer’s five-star-tropical-boutique-hotel dream, Meet Me There is actually an eco-conscious, not-for-profit lodge that supports the work of the Dream Big Ghana NGO, a charity dedicated to improving education, health care and sanitation for local people.
Located on the coast between the villages of Dzita and Dzita-Abledomi, this is a place where guests can fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves and wake up to the traditional songs of local fishermen. And, refreshingly, rather than boasting about the reliability of its internet connection, the lodge has a ‘no WiFi’ policy. There are no hot water showers, TVs or air-conditioning either, a principled stance that results in visitors being able to experience a real break from their usual hectic, device-driven lives and reconnect with the natural world in a way that can only be good for the soul.
