La Palm Royal Beach

Out east, in Labadi, you’ll find the city’s most popular beach, which at weekends fills with families frolicking in the surf and youngsters playing football. If you go through the main entrance, by Labadi Beach Hotel, there’s a charge of GH¢3 from Monday to Friday and GH¢5 on Saturday and Sunday between 5am and 7pm. The beach is usually at its busiest on Sundays. Bars, restaurants and a few shops are on hand for refreshments. Expect loud music and flying footballs, although not for it to be the cleanest beach you’ve ever seen.

The area is also home to the excellent resorts of Labadi Beach Hotel and La Palm Royal Beach, both of which have lovely swimming pools.
